Carlton has held on against a fast-finishing Richmond to record back-to-back wins in the AFLW.

The Blues had to repel an onslaught of pressure late in the fourth quarter to win by five-points 8.3 (51) to 7.4 (46) at Princes Park on Saturday afternoon.

Forward Darcy Vescio led the way on the scoreboard for Carlton with three of the team’s eight goals.

Carlton’s Jess Hoskings and her identical twin sister, Richmond’s Sarah, were the focus of the Round 4 clash.

The twins were standouts on both sides, with the pair collecting 16 and 13 disposals respectively.

It was all Richmond at the start, with the Tigers kicking the first four goals of the game.

A 22-point lead early in the second quarter was as good as it got for the Tigers, who had their lead evaporated by half-time.

The Blues kicked four straight goals in the second quarter to take a one-point lead into half time.

They then kicked on in the third, scoring three goals to one to take a 12-point lead into the final term.

Carlton ruck Breann Moody dominated the stoppages, with 21 hit-outs in the win.

The Tigers came home strong in the final term, getting within two points with eight minutes to play.

But a run down the right-wing by midfielder Georgia Gee led to a pinpoint kick to the top of the square which was marked by Nicola Stevens.

Stevens’s goal pushed the Blues to what ultimately was an insurmountable lead.

Late flurries from the Tigers only produced three behinds to finish the match.

The win gives the Blues two wins and two losses for the year, while Richmond remain winless.

Second half blitz guide Fremantle over Gold Coast

Six goals in the second half have helped Fremantle maintain their perfect start to the AFLW season.

The Dockers were heavily fancied against the winless Gold Coast Suns, but found themselves trailing after a sluggish start.

The Suns took an early lead with a goal to Leah Kaslar and held the six point advantage into the first-quarter break.

But it would be the Suns’ only score of the match, with Fremantle kicking 1.5 (11) in the quarter to take a five-point lead into the main break.

The second half was all Fremantle, who slotted six goals for a 7.13 (55) to 1.0 (6) at Fremantle Oval.

In the final game of the day, Collingwood maintained an unbeaten record with a 4.4 (28) to 0.8 (8) win over the Kangaroos at Docklands, led by a two-goal performance from Chloe Molloy.
