Two teenagers have been charged over the stabbing death of young tradesman Cam Smith outside Seaford train station in Melbourne’s south-east.

Homicide detectives have charged a 19-year-old man from Somers with murder, while a 17-year-old boy from Frankston who was also at the scene has been charged with affray, intentionally causing injury and committing offences while on bail.

Cam Smith’s grieving father says his son was a hard worker with a heart of gold.

Cam Smith, 26, died outside Seaford train station on Station Street on Wednesday night.

The Langwarrin carpenter, whose family remembered as “a great young man” with everything to live for, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
