Victoria recorded no new local cases for the 16th day in a row on Sunday, as the federal government works on a plan to establish Singapore as a holiday destination and quarantine gateway for stranded Australians.
There are just two active cases remaining across Victoria, a reduction of one since Saturday. There were 11,382 test results received.
No new cases were reported in hotel quarantine.
Australians could be allowed to travel to Singapore for work or leisure without approval from the Department of Home Affairs, provided they have had the jab as part of the ambitious new plan, which federal government sources are hopeful will be up and running by July or August.
Singapore could also act as a potential vaccination hub for returning Australians, international students and business travellers. There are approximately 40,000 Australians still stuck overseas.
The Department of Health has warned coronavirus fragments have been found in the wastewater of Laverton, Laverton North, Werribee (east of the Werribee River), Balwyn North, Blackburn North, Box Hill North, Bulleen, Doncaster, Doncaster East, Donvale, Mitcham, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North and Nunawading.
Fragments have also been found in Sunbury (north-eastern area) between March 7 and 11.
Anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms and was in these suburbs between March 9 and 11 is urged to get tested immediately.
