Canberrans can expect storms throughout the day with flashes of lightning and thunder. Helen Kirkup from the Bureau of Meteorology said large hail was not likely to hit Canberra, however there was a chance some small hail could hit the city. However Dr Kirkup said the storm conditions were likely to subside by the end of the day. Today is forecast to reach a top of 26 degrees with up to 4mm of rainfall expected.
